Audrey

In this piece, I used a tongue in cheek approach to this over utilized subject in modern portrait painting. There are numerous interpretations of the ever classic "Audrey Hepburn" in all styles of art.
This at first sight is a seemingly classic portrait, painted in a realistic style, in a black and white color palette, reminiscent of the sixties celebrity photography.
The use of gold leaf, resin, and pearls add a more modern touch to this artwork, as does  Audrey giving the "finger" ever so discreetly...in a very classy Audrey manner.
